The work addresses all variations of Chinese hand woven rugs & carpets. . The text addresses the development of carpet weaving, carpet design, colours & weaving techniques. * Each illustration is preceded by a tissue guard with plate number, descriptive text and details. The work has 55 illustrations in all, 3 in full color, with a map of the "Chinese Rug & Carpet Districts" of China. . The work was translated from the original German into English by Ms. L. Arnold. . *** CONDITION OF THE FIRST EDITION: The work is bound in the publisher's gray cloth with stamped titles and bat insignia on the cover and spine. The work is solidly bound and firm, with some of the usual dustiness and a few, very minor discolored areas. There are two former owner's round paper name logos on the front and rear endpapers, else the contents are exceptionally clean, fresh and without issues. By and large a much better than average copy. . ***.
