Octavos, Two Volumes. In Very Good minus condition. Housed in publisher's red cloth slip case, lightly worn. Bound in publisher's half red leather and marbled paper boards with paneling and gilt lettering to spine. Mild scuffing to tail of spine on Volume II. Edges of textblock gilt, lightly worn with light staining to fore edge of Volume I. Interior pages clean. Shelved in Case 13. The textblock is "a re-creation of the 1874 edition published by George Routledge and Sons, London" with the original illustrations in black and white and color scattered throughout. 1382052. Vivid black-and-white, and colour frontispiece accompanied with their, remarkably well-preserved, original, tissue-guards, untrimmed pages edges, gilt top edges. Two additional photogravure plates, each also accompanied with their original tissue-guards. Lightest touch of rubbing to the edges, else, extremities remain remarkbly well-preserved. Contents equally without blemish with bright, clean, and unmarked pages and firm, sound bindings; very good+. A handsome, and most presentable two-volume set.
