The contributions are mostly from English authors but included are examples by Thomas Jefferson, Daniel Webster, John Quincy Adams, William Cullen Bryant, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and others. Early owner name and inscription dated 1837 on front blank. Library discard stamp on bulked text edges and front endpaper; frontispiece with some staining but text generally clean; binding solid.
