396 pages, with the errata slip. This book was published for the Advisory Group Aeronautical Research And Development North Atlantic Treaty Organization. These papers were presented in MiIlan Italy on April 5-8, 1960. "To begin with, it seems fairly certain that men will fly, both in peace time and in war. Considering the limitations of human physiology, it is not unreasonable to expect that the urge for fast manned flight through the atmosphere, or at least through the upper atmosphere, will not be entirely satisfied by the possibility of outer space missions lasting several years and utlizing "modern" propulsion engines such as ion engines, mhd engines, plasma engines, etc., all using nuclear power plants. At the present time, we have operational civilian aircraft flying at a Mach number of 0-8-0-9." VERY GOOD HARDCOVER, ex-library withdrawn from Applied Science Laboratories, Inc.
