ROSSO ha una visione pessimista del rapporto tra l'uomo e la società, solitudine e contrasto tra passione e razionalità, nel confronto tra il Nord, caratterizzato da una vita razionale, concreta e grigia, e il Sud caratterizzato dal sogno mitico, dai colori passionali della vita. Grande scrittore, e drammaturgo con senso del grottesco, messo fatalmente in ombra dal fulgore pirandelliano, ma recentemente riproposto dall'editore Salvatore Sciascia di Caltanissetta.
