Legatura strenna in mezza pelle con titoli e fregi dorati di gusto romantico impressi sul dorso e piatti in percallina rossa con decorazioni e ritratto del Manzoni impresso a rilievo, in ottavo cm 19 x 13, pp 390 (2), vignetta sul frontespizio e ritratto dell'autore all'antiporta. Al verso del piatto anteriore certificato di premio scolastico del Comune di Gattinara, datato 1883. Bella edizione strenna di questo volume di commento storico che accompagn� il romanzo di Manzoni nel corso della sua affermazione presso il pubblico e le scuole dell'Italia risorgimentale: l'opera, col titolo �Sulla Storia lombarda del sec XVII, ragionamenti per commento ai Promessi Sposi�, apparve infatti per la prima volta nel 1832, pochi anni dopo la Ventisettana, e fu poi pi� volte ristampata con piccole variazioni fino a questa definitiva versione del 1874.
