Dust jacket rubbed; soiling to white rear panel; creasing, wear, and tears at edges with old tape repairs; patch of surface peeling at spine center; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Blue cloth. Strong toning to rear endpapers with minimal toning to front endpapers; personal sextant-themed bookplate of St. Louis physician, naval historian, and author E. Lee Dorsett (Edward Lee Dorsett, 1883-1967) on front pastedown; interior pages are clean. Binding retains some crispness. A very good+ copy in a good+ dust jacket. With color frontispiece by Charles Rosner, b/w plates, Foreword, Bibliography, and Index.
