Jacket has light shelf and edge wear, decorated end pages, text is without flaw. 5.5 X 8 128 pages, published 1972. This special edition of The Cook Not Mad, a reprint of Canada's first cookbook, has been prepared for Diana Sweets Limited, Toronto's longest established restaurateurs, to commemorate their 60th Anniversary in 1972. Hand-written Christmas wishes from Roy Abrahamson (publisher) laid in. A reprint of Canada's first cookbook published in 1831 to which have been added recipes for present-day use and explanatory notes. As well as being a "first" this book offers an opportunity to peek through the kitchen window at how Canadian people lived almost 200 years ago. Important too is the fact that the book is so readable. You will delight in the turn of phrase, the literary flavour, and the good recipes.
