While linked to Marcus Gavius Apicius, a notoriously wealthy Roman foodie who lived in the 1st century AD, he did not write Apicius, which instead refers to the title of the oldest surviving collection of Roman culinary recipes, De re coquinaria ("On the Subject of Cooking?, first published in 62 A.D. by Caelius Apicius, later revived in 1498). c.1818 2nd Edition.
