Fourth printing (as stated upon copyright page; first published August 1943). xii, 308 pages. Hardcover: H 21cm x L 14cm. Dust jacket with color pictorial front panel and spine; shallow chipping at edges; toning and soiling mostly evident to white rear panel and flaps; tears at flap folds and lower spine folds; front flap retains publisher's printed price at top right; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Blue cloth with gilt stamping to spine. Preface by State Supervisor George D. Marsh; Acknowledgements; paged b/w frontispiece plus unpaged b/w plates and illustrations; Index. Slight toning/foxing to endpapers; interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy in a vey good- dust jacket (the latter's presence being quite uncommon).
