Past president of the AAPC National Advisory Board, Grider is certified by the AAPC and the American Health Information Management Association and served on the CPT Editorial Panel representing AAPC. She is the author of numerous coding publications for the American Medical Association, including Principles of ICD-9-CM Coding, 4e, Coding with Modifiers, 3e, Medical Record Chart Auditor, 3e, and ICD-10-CM Implementation Guide, Making the Transition Managable. She also wrote the Certified Professional Coder-Hospital™ Study Guide and the Professional Medical Coding Curriculum-Hospital for the American Academy of Professional Coders.
