These are proceedings of the Fifth Annual Symposium in Botany, held at UC Riverside in 1982. At the time about "25 or so" families, principally succulents, but including Bromeliaceae and Orchidaceae had been identified, and the range of habitatat extended to include numerous epiphytes.
