London: Phaidon, 1998. Oblong 4to. Printed wrappers. A very good, lightly shelfworn copy of 464 pages, 700 color and 40 black & white illustrations, in wraps. Designed by Julia Hasting. This is the first installment of Phaidon's biennial "exhibition-in-a-book". Boldly designed, it presents the work of one hundred rising contemporary art stars as selected by ten curators, offering a comprehensive view of fin-de siecle art in all media. Includes key contemporary writers: Gilles Deleuze, Cesar Aira, Arjun Appadurai, Nicolas Bourriaud, Chris Kraus, Julia Kristeva, Toni Morrison, David Robbins, Edward Said, and Eve Kosofsky. A handsome copy showing a few surface abrasions to the rear cover.
