About the Author: Peter Apps, wildlife author and award-winning scientist, obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Oxford and an M.Sc. And Ph.D. from the University of Pretoria. His scientific interests range from animal behaviour to chemistry. He is the author of the field guides Wild Ways and Smither's Mammals of Southern Africa as well as dozens of scientifc and popular articles. Richard du Toit's keen interest in wildlife photography led from a BSc degree in Zoology and Entomology to a professional career as a photographer. He has won numerous awards for his wildlife photographs, and has produced several books. Richard has also has contributed to other major wildlife titles including Images from a Timeless Wilderness and Africa's Big Five.
