About this title

Synopsis

Do you think an experience needs to be big and important to be valuable? What about those small, funny, poignant moments, those that don’t seem to be very significant? Can you actually learn life lessons from those simple things in life? Randa Chance shares true-life stories that are gut-wrenchingly sad, side-splittingly hilarious, and achingly tender. Laugh out loud with her as she swallows a bobby pin and when she becomes psychotic at the end of her pregnancy. Sigh with her when she meets her remarkable husband. Cry along with her as she realizes that, as a young mother, and the wife of a church-planting pastor husband, there’s no food to feed their kids, nor money to buy any. Each vignette charms the reader with real emotions and you’ll keep turning the pages to read “just one more.” Randa Chance shows readers from all walks of life that significant moments don’t have to be big and important to truly matter. Sometimes a moment consists of a fully-clothed grandmother executing a cannonball dive into the creek, just to help her family say good-bye with smiles instead of tears. Sometimes it’s about finding the funny in the insensitive, instead of taking offense. Sometimes a moment is about how Christmas can still be special – even after you burn down the house. Randa manages to find those priceless moments while juggling life as a wife, mother, pastor’s wife and a writer. Readers from all walks of life will be challenged to hold those they love just a little closer, to consciously appreciate not just the big moments but also the little ones, and to find contentment, laughter and beauty even in some of life’s most difficult circumstances.
