Woodcut engravings; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 167 pages; Soundly bound in original ribbed brown cloth with title designs to cover and spine in gilt and decorative bordering and rules in blind. Illustrated with 5 woodcut plates. Superficial shallow falking of the cloth at the crown of the spine; corners lightly bumped. Scattered light foxing in the text, a little heavier to the first and last 8 - 10 pages. One signature starting slightly at front edge; front free endpage excised, presumably to remove ownership inscription. Appended at rear is a 24 page catalog of the publisher's offerings. Solid still attractive copy of this early edition of a standard 19th century work on the subject. VG-.
