About the Author: Brandon Dean Lamson is Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Austin, where he teaches literature and creative writing, and an ordained priest in the Soto Zen lineage. He is the author of Caged: A Teacher’s Journey Through Rikers, or How I Beheaded the Minotaur (Fordham) and the poetry collections Starship Tahiti, winner of the Juniper Prize for Poetry, and Houston Gothic.
