A scarce lovely travel guide to Cairo in French in a fine binding. Includes folding maps as well as illustrations in the text, some photographic. Francis Ambrière (September 27, 1907 1 July 1998) was a French author who was selected for the Prix Goncourt in 1940, for his book Les Grandes Vacances; the prize was awarded later in 1946 because of World War II. Francis Ambriere has been recognised for his novel Les Grandes Vacances, which chronicles the lives of French prisoners of war in 1940. It is also the author of several Guides bleus, of which this is one. In a half crushed morocco binding with cloth covered boards. Externally smart, with very little shelfwear.
