Calculated Hesitation

There is a kind of pause that looks like weakness and is actually something else entirely.

Calculated Hesitation is a poetry collection for people who overthink, feel deeply, and find the modern pace of life quietly exhausting. These poems sit with anxiety, loneliness, creative struggle, and the specific weight of being a person who notices too much. They don't rush toward resolution. They make space in the pause.

Mary Grace van der Kroef writes about fear, friendship, artistic identity, addiction's shadow on people we love, and what it means to still choose hope when hope feels like a small and stubborn thing.

For quiet thinkers who need someone to go first.
