Maybe Yes Maybe No

Some invitations begin with coffee. The unforgettable ones begin with courage.

Elena has a life that works. Dawn coffee. The same park path. A notebook where every dollar has a name. She is not waiting to be rescued. She is keeping a promise to herself.

Then a tall man she does not yet know asks a simple question: Would she like to have coffee sometime?

Karim is from Turkey. He is kind. He is patient. He is also already living a life with its own rhythm — family, duty, money sent home, a culture that shapes what hospitality and home even mean. Elena is an accountant. She trusts ledgers because ledgers behave. People do not.

What follows is not a montage. It is waiting. Missed evenings. A rain check that is really a boundary. Turkish coffee and American coffee on the same table. Two good people falling toward each other while the quieter facts of their lives keep arriving.

Maybe Yes, Maybe No is a novel about timing, culture, money, and the courage to tell the truth before love becomes a promise neither person can keep. It was not written to argue that love is insufficient. It was written to argue that love deserves honesty.

The deeper question is not whether two people love one another. The deeper question is whether they are building the same future.

Maybe yes. Maybe no.
