About the Author
David Brown is a graduate of the University of Santa Clara Law School, also teaches law at the Monterey College of Law. His other books include Beat Your Ticket and The California Landlords Law Book: Evictions. He lives in Monterey, CA. Ralph Warner is widely regarded as a pioneer of the self-help law movement. He founded Nolo in 1972 and began publishing do-it-yourself law books after being rejected by numerous publishers. He has written and co-written many books, including Get a Life, Living Together and How to Run a Thriving Business.Janet Portman specializes in residential and commercial landlord/tenant law, legal issues related to courts, and neighbor disputes. Her other books include Every Landlord's Legal Guide and Every Tenant's Legal Guide. She is also a nationally syndicated columnist; her Rent It Right column appears regularly in the Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe and many other newspapers and websites.
