Estudios de investigación han demostrado que el uso de textos positivos puede tener un impacto en el aprendizaje y el reconocimiento de palabras. Específicamente, las palabras positivas se reconocen con mayor rapidez que las palabras que tienen connotaciones emocionales negativas (Kuperman, Estes, Brysbaert, & Warriner, 2014), y el vocabulario nuevo se aprende de manera más eficiente con palabras positivas que con palabras que tienen un tono neutro o negativo cuando se presentan mediante la repetición (Hu, Liu & Zhang, 2010). Además, investigaciones han revelado que inducir un estado de ánimo positivo puede mejorar los comportamientos de establecimiento de metas y el posterior desempeño de los niños en edad escolar (Hom & Arbuckle, 1988), y que en ciertas tareas cognitivas, tanto la precisión como la eficiencia de las tareas aumentan al estimular a los estudiantes a que tengan un estado de ánimo positivo (Rader & Hughes, 2005).
