Call of the Dark Child: Case File: TDG-512F

Six years ago, fourteen people fled thirty-five centuries into the past to escape the Malloch, a race so powerful that the technology of the future could not stop them. Scattered across the ancient world of Vaelthara, each survivor was left to carve out a new life among civilizations that had forgotten they would one day shape history.

Dr. Kellyn Windstream has done more than survive. She has reunited with family, found love, embraced the ancient magic of her ancestors, and helped awaken a forgotten world. But peace proves fleeting. Her husband has vanished into the Wild Hunt, and another of the fourteen, Ellendyl Felhart, finally emerges after six years of searching. She has crossed hostile forests not to wage war, but to beg for help.

Deep beneath the haunted reaches of Stonespire Thicket, the Felhart Clan faces a mystery that has endured for centuries. The Gravhal, a proud race of master miners, once abandoned a successful invasion of the forest without explanation. Their mountain halls now stand empty, their deepest tunnels shunned even by those who carved them.

Seeking answers, Kellyn and her companions descend into the forgotten world beneath the mountains, where they discover an ancient civilization hidden from history and a darkness that has slept beyond memory.

Some evils are buried for a reason.

And beneath the stone, something has begun listening to the world above.

The Malloch are closer than anyone imagined.
