The Call

"What a pleasure to read David Spangler's book...His words are full of heart, wisdom, sensitivity, and discernment."--Thomas Moore, bestselling author of Care of the Soul

Who am I? Why am I here? What is my life about? These are the universal questions that David Spangler addresses in his inspiring new book, The Call. By recognizing the basic human need to be a part of something larger than ourselves, a yearning for direction and meaning, Spangler reinterprets the classic concept of the spiritual calling for today's readers. His words are simple and few, but his message is powerful. David Spangler's The Call is not only "a gentle sermon" (Minneapolis Star Tribune), but "an opportune springboard to examining one's direction in life, and to redefining one's purpose and plan" (NAPRA Review).

Each of us yearns to fulfill our calling. Yet this can be a confusing task. Many of us have sought to fulfill it through our vocations--believing that what we do defines who we are. But this is akin to looking for love in all the wrong places, says David Spangler. Our calling, in the truest sense, is to give and receive love. From this plain and simple truth, Spangler shows us how we can fulfill our call in everyday moments.
