"Cathy Schieffelin’s powerful novel is a challenge to neatly peg. The intrigue, suspense, emotional overlays, and history are wound so deeply into events that readers receive a rollicking ride through birth, death, and challenges that drive the two characters into dilemmas they never saw coming." - D. Donovan, Senior Reviewer, Midwest Book Review

"A thrilling blend of medical suspense and captivating romance set in diverse international locations. Schieffelin masterfully incorporates the cultural aspects of the unique locations into the narrative. I loved the vivid descriptions of the East African islands and the Colombian countryside.
