Called and Accountable (Trade Book): Discovering Your Place in God's Eternal Purpose

Every believer is called by God, and His call is life-transforming. When this truth grips a person’s heart, he or she is never the same again. Immediately there comes into that life a deep sense of meaning and purpose and a devoted sense of accountability to God. Authors Henry Blackaby and Norman Blackaby lead men and women to explore the life-transforming, world-changing call that God gives every follower of Christ. Just as He did throughout the Bible, God is still calling His people, at this very hour, to accomplish His eternal purposes in redeeming the lost. God has a unique plan for each of His followers to be a part of His mission. Called and Accountable thoughtfully explores these questions: Why does God call us? What is a call? Who are the called? How am I called? When am I called? How do I live out the call?

Henry T. Blackaby is the author of Experiencing God, which has sold 5 million copies and has been translated into 50 languages. He is president of Blackaby Ministries International, an organization he founded to help people experience God in a more intimate way. Born in British Columbia, Dr. Blackaby has devoted his lifetime to ministry. He has served as a music director, education director, and pastor in churches in California and Canada, as well as president of Canadian Baptist Theological College for seven years and president of the Canadian Southern Baptist Conference. Dr. Blackaby went on to serve as special assistant to the president at the Home Mission Board (now North American Mission Board) of the Southern Baptist Convention in the area of prayer, revival, and spiritual awakening. He also served as special assistant to the presidents of the International Mission Board and LifeWay Christian Resources. He has provided leadership to thousands of pastors and laymen across North America and has spoken internationally in over ninety countries of the world. Henry lives with his wife, Marilynn, in Rex, Georgia. He has five children (Richard, Tom, Melvin, Norman, and Carrie), all of whom are serving in Christian ministry, and fourteen grandchildren. His long-range goal is to encourage revival and spiritual awakening in the United States, Canada, and across the world through speaking, praying, enlisting, writing, and mentoring.

Norman C. Blackaby serves as Vice President of Blackaby Ministries International, where his responsibilities include preaching, leading conferences, and directing the On-line Training Center. Prior to joining Blackaby Ministries, Norman served in Texas as a senior pastor and teaching fellow. Norman holds a Ph.D. in biblical backgrounds and has taught for two Southern Baptist seminaries in the fields of backgrounds and spiritual development.
