They Called Me Jane (Paperback or Softback)

The hunter's shot pierced the jungle's silence the moment the bullet exited the barrel, passing through limbs and leaves until striking the target, but not its intended target. It was Zura's mom. But these hunters are in her jungle, and Zura would show no mercy, especially to the man who shot her mother. In a merciless jungle, no one can hear you scream.

Zura Jameson is not your average eleven-year old girl. Born and raised in Africa, she and her parents live on an elephant sanctuary her parents created and operated, a sanctuary they named Wild Hearts. It was her home, a place like no other. It was there, while helping her parents with the elephants, that she grew accustom to the wilds of the jungle, training and honing her skills that would prepare her for almost anything. Little did she know those skills would be put to the test in a way she could never imagine, a test of survival.

Through twists and turns the hunters become the prey as Zura uses her knowledge of the jungle to eliminate her captors and save her mother...if she's still alive.

In this spirited novel, April O'Connell captures the essence of adventure as she pulls you into the wilds of the jungle. She has a passion for creating memorable characters
