The Calling

Sara Pendleton embarks on a learning vacation at Dearby Castle, located in the north of England near the border with Scotland. The books travel to different time periods as the characters grapple with the large issues of warfare and political upheaval and the daily issues of relationships. Mrs. Hammond is a thirty-one year veteran of local government.
