Jo Fuller Gargaly Is Calypso's human. This is her first time narrating a book for Calypso. Jo is a retired 4th grade teacher and elementary Library Media Specialist. Jo's love for painting began in high school. She enjoys painting landscapes, portraits, and animals that invoke joyful emotions. Jo and her husband, Charlie, live in Barnstead, New Hampshire with their Golden Retriever, Calypso. Calypso takes Charlie and Jo hiking, biking, visiting their three grown sons, and exploring the United States. Jo's life experiences include growing up sailing Long Island Sound and saving her money for horseback riding. During college, Jo rowed and coached the University of New Hampshire women's crew club. One summer, Jo rode her bicycle across the country from Washington to Connecticut. After graduation, Jo worked as an animal health technician for 12 years before discovering the joy of teaching, lifelong learning, and working with children.
Michele Croteau is a retired 3rd grade teacher from the New Hampshire seacoast. She grew up spending most of her childhood along the shores of the Hampton area. She still uses her educator skills volunteering at her local historical society, educating local children about their town's rich history. Michele and her husband John have two daughters, two granddaughters, and lots of family and friends they love to spend time with. Michele and Jo met in grad school and have been inseparable ever since.
