Yellow brown pictorial blind-stamped boards with gilt design to front board (Parliament building with boat on Ottawa river, gilt emblem of Canada and black line drawing of Rocky Mountains with train). Gilt design (beaver) and lettering to spine. Beveled edge to boards. All edges red. Frontispiece (Lord Stanley). Illustrated with numerous b/w portraits of some of Canada's chief business men, statesmen, farmers, men of the learned professions, and others. Index at end of each volume. At end of volume 5 is a 19 pages publications by Rev. W. J. Hunter entitled "Phrenology and Physiognomy. An Appendix to The Canadian Album: Men of Canada, etc". Ex-library (call no on front paste-down, remains of call no at bottom of spine, oval library stamp to front end-paper). Owner's signature to front end-paper (Capt. J.E. Bernier. Lévis, P.Q.).
