How Cancer Improved My Life

When twenty-nine-year-old Christine Schrader was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer, she refused to let fear or statistics define her. Instead, she opened her heart-and her journal-sharing the raw reality of treatment, the strength of family, and the stubborn joy she found in small, everyday moments.

How Cancer Improved My Life is Christine's story in her own words: candid, faith-filled, and often laced with the humor that carried her through more than sixty rounds of chemotherapy. From hospital rooms to holiday celebrations, her reflections remind us that even in the darkest times, there is room for laughter, gratitude, and love.

Lovingly compiled by her family, this book is more than a record of one young woman's fight; it is a testament to resilience, a legacy of encouragement, and a gift of hope for anyone facing life's hardest battles.

Christine R. Schrader, diagnosed at twenty-nine with colorectal cancer, journaled through her chemotherapy about her relationships and daily life while fighting her fatal disease. She was born into a middle-class family in the Midwest and was the fourth of five siblings. Christine attended Catholic school from kindergarten through her high school years. She had a well-developed work ethic along with strong managerial and organizational skills. She showed her creative side by making professionally themed cakes. She was able to multitask in the most stressful of times. One of her favorite things was to watch movies starring Keanu Reeves.
