My Cancer Mommy

Written by Taylor Rice when she was just 7 years old, My Cancer Mommy is a breakthrough book that speaks to kids from a kid s voice. She takes the hands of children of other cancer mommies and walks them through the scary journey of cancer, from diagnosis to recovery.

Taylor was only seven months old when her mom, DeAnna was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time (DeAnna s first diagnosis came when she was just 29 years old). When Taylor was seven years old, her mom was diagnosed with the BRCA cancer gene and was diagnosed with her third cancer.

Taylor Nicole Rice is an extraordinary little girl. Sure, she loves Webkinz, Hip-Hop Dancing and goes to Brownies like many 8 year olds. But after she endured having to watch her mother through two bouts of cancer, this extraordinary little girl wanted to share her story with other children so they will understand some of the scary things that happen when someone you love has cancer. So she wrote this warm, heartfelt children s book, My Cancer Mommy.

Taylor lives in Lake Forest with her parents, DeAnna and Tim Rice, along with her three dogs, Ruby, Bella, and Papa. Even though there may be miles separating them, she is very close to her seven older brothers and sisters. She s currently in 3rd Grade.
