1969 MIT Press hardcover reprint of the long out-of-print 1937 edition. Sapphire blue cloth boards and spine with silver lettering. Except for the name of the former owner written on the first free endpaper, the book is immaculate. Pages are bright, tight, clean and unmarked. Binding is strong and sound. This colorful narrative written during the Depression is filled to the brim with history, shipwreck stories, tall tales, and local characters like the Witch of Billingsgate in Wellfleet and Josh Northrup of Orleans, the last municipal lamp lighter on the Cape. A wonderful book for anyone who has long loved the beauty and history of old Cape Cod. This was the first book published by author and political speechwriter, Josef Berger, who also wrote under the pen name Jeremiah Digges . Please see all images.

Friends of the Curtis Memorial Library, based in Brunswick, Maine is a non-profit corporation that exists solely to assist the Curtis Memorial Library in its many activities, principally through fundraising by the sale of used books. Operating through a retail outlet located at 200 Maine St. in Brunswick and through its on-line sales activities, Curtis Friends operates only with volunteers from the local community and sells only those books donated by its constituents. Curtis Friends has been in existence for several decades.
