Original blind-stamped purple cloth slightly rubbed and bumped at the extremities, with minimal expert restoration to the head of both joints; spine sunned to brown; first map lightly foxed; an excellent copy (internally fine). With the armorial bookplate of the Marquess of Downshire, most probably Arthur Wills Blundell Sandys Trumbull Windsor Hill, 4th Marquess of Downshire (1812-1868). The preferred edition, being more than twice as large as its predecessors of 1837 and 1838. Ferguson 2725.
