New York: R.H. Ferguson & Co., Publishers, 1870. Captain Glazier's account of his incarceration and escapes from Confederate prisons was a best-seller. First published immediately after the war [1866]. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of a Later Printing. Maroon cloth binding, decoratively stamped in gilt on the spine and front cover. Clean text; xiv, then 19 to 422 pages, followed by an advert by the publisher for Agents [this edition sold by subscription]. Frontis engraving, and eleven other illustrations within. Pages 369-422 are an Appendix listing Union prisoners held. The textblock is toned and spotted throughout but remains perfectly readable. Mildly bumped. An attractive copy of this fascinating tale. Later Printing. Decorative Cloth. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Terms of sale
We accept checks and money orders in US Dollars. Credit card orders are accepted through ABE. California residents must add appropriate sales tax (currently 7.25%). Items are returnable for any reason within ten days of receipt (please email or call first before returning item).
