Carbonation 016 (Paperback)

Paperback. Jeremy Springsteed's fourth collection of poems contains a river of rats, an army of disarticulated human feet, and of course a murder of crows. These poems travel the world and in and out of time with a strong Pacific Northwest homebase. Jeremy Springsteed's fine new collection of poems, By Foot and Wing, is a celebration of wanderlust that takes us traveling from Seattle west to coastal Washington towns on the Pacific Ocean, north to the Salish Sea, and south to Teotihuacan, Mexico, among other locales. We also travel back in time to the 6th century BCE Battle of the Eclipse between the Medes and Lydians in Asia Minor. As with Springsteed's two previous volumes, this collection of thoughtful, engaging poems whets one's appetite for real-lifeadventures in the physical world and cerebral adventures in the pages of books. - Steve Potter By Foot and Wing walks the fault lines of grief, wonder, and memory; every foot washed ashore is a myth, and every corvid a prophet. Springsteed's poems are waymarkers for the lost, elegies for vanished cities and vanishing selves. Part road song, part crow-call, part love letter to the lost and left behind-read it if you've ever searched the tide for answers-or tried to outrun your own shadow. - Julene Tripp Weaver, author of Slow Now with Clear Skies This item is printed on demand.
