About the Author

Robert A. Kloner, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California, a practicing Cardiologist and Director of Research at the Heart Institute of Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. He has published over 300 scientific papers, over 190 chapters and monographs, and has edited 10 textbooks on heart disease. Dr. Kloner has pioneered several major concepts related to ischemic heart disease. He has been an established investigator of the American Heart Association and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Investigators. Dr. Kloner serves as a member of the editorial boards of 12 cardiology journals and is a reviewer for numerous other journals.

He currently is a consultant to the National Institutes of Health and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Kloner is also the author of 2 novels, The Beta Virus and Mind Cure. His novels are available nationwide through Borders Bookstores and Barnes & Noble.
