Caring for Your Parents: A Sourcebook of Options and Solutions for Both Generations

Describes common situations that face aging parents and their adult children and discusses wills, health problems, safety, Medicare, adult day care, and nursing homes

Living in modern society can challenge almost anyone, with the multitude of new health technologies, insurance and financial options, and housing and leisure opportunities. These choices can be especially daunting to older persons, who may be suffering from physical or mental disabilities, as well as for family members called upon to assist them. This book provides an excellent source of information on such diverse topics as making out living wills, dealing with bureaucracies, finding health care specialists, selecting nursing homes, and locating service agencies. Clearly written and well organized, it offers a wealth of practical advice along with names and addresses of pertinent organizations. The discussion of Medicare and Medicaid is excellent.
