Caring for Your Quilts: Textile Conservation, Repair and Storage

Should you quilt that top you found at the estate sale? Is it possible to get that nasty stain out of your favorite quilt? Hallye Bone answers those questions and more. She packs a wealth of information on how to care for your beloved textiles in this handy little volume.

Hallye Bone has been quilting since 1967. For fifteen years, she has written and designed for many quilting magazines. She began repairing quilts in 1978. Since then, she has laundered over 1,000 quilts by hand and repaired hundreds more. During trips to American and European museums and in classes from textile experts, Hallye learned museum-accepted standards for quilt care. Hallye is an appraiser of quilted textiles, certified by the American Quilter's Society in Paducah, Kentucky. She has a series of original redwork and applique patterns. Hallye enjoys teaching and lecturing about quilts and she still finds time to make quilts for friends and family.
