8vo. pp.101-152. Stapled booklet in white wrappers printed in black. A few dings around the edges, wrappers ever so lightly soiled, just a touch or rust on the staples, corners square and flat, an occasional corner turned in in the interior, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. This issue of Heart Throbs of the West, the official organ of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, is devoted to a thorough and detailed description of the history of photography in Utah. It describes the work of various photographers who worked in Utah beginning with Gustave Louis Edward Henroid, who came to Utah in 1853, and ending with a description of Kate Carter's family albums of photographs. It also includes a section entitled "Western Explorers and Their Photographers," which includes a description of the work of William H. Jackson. A "must have" for anyone interested in the history of photography in Utah and The West.
