A scarce copy.In the original wraps, with the original glassine.This type-face originated in the late 40s when Will Carter, founder of the Rampant Lions Press, collaborated with David Kindersley to form what they believed to be missing from available printing types. This is one of two fonts Carter designed for Monotype, named Octavian.Accompanying each letter is a brief, but enlightening piece of commentary by Carter pointing out the design details and the principles which guided certain decisions.The Rampant Lions Press was a prominent fine letterpress printing firm that operated from 1924-2008 and was among the most highly regarded printing-offices in Britain.
