About the Author

He has been a calculus instructor at Harvard (where he earned his BA and MA in mathematics) and a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT, and he is currently staff cartoonist for Muse magazine. He lives in San Francisco, California.

Alice Outwater has been writing about water and the environment for twenty-five years. She studied water in grad school at MIT, and managed sludge for the Boston Harbor Clean-Up. She lives in the high desert of southwest Colorado, near Ignacio.
