Eighth printing. Softcover in illustrated wraps. A mid-century travel guide produced for American service members stationed in Europe, offering a broad survey of historic German castles, regional routes, and cultural landmarks. This copy includes a laid-in folded city map of Salzburg (Austria), a desirable piece of original travel ephemera.

Condition: Good. Wraps show moderate rubbing, surface wear, and soiling, with creasing and edge wear at corners and spine ends. Interior remains generally clean with light toning; a small stain and slight waviness are present near the rear index pages. Binding is secure. The laid-in Salzburg map is in Very Good condition, clean and complete with expected fold lines. A previous owner name label 'Heather and Tim Gratton' is affixed to the title page.

Stated eighth printing (1967). This is a later printing of a popular Stars and Stripes travel series issued for U.S. military personnel abroad, rather than a first edition.
