First edition. 8vo; 86 pp.; illustrated with 8 color lithographs by John Piper. A very good copy or better in original gilt-stamped brown cloth, in a Piper-designed lithographic dust jacket. The first and best edition of Richards's essay on the English suburban villa. Beautiful lithographs by Piper, replaced with cheap offset versions in subsequent editions.
