A very scarce catalogue detailing luxurious items from the collection of the late 'Great Defender' Edward Marshall Hall. The Collection of Old French Snuff-Boxes and Objects of Vertu of the prolific lawyer Sir Edward Marshall Hall, a very scarce auction catalogue from Messrs., Christie, Manson & Woods auction house. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Marshall Hall was known as 'The Great Defender' due to successfully defending many accused of murder in highly public cases. Famed for his oratory skill, he was a celebrity during his lifetime. Items in the catalogue include six George III spade guineas and a Louis XVI silver snuff box. Externally, mostly smart, with faint browning to wrap extremities and a couple of spots to rear. Creases to tails of front joints and bottom extremities, a little heavier to tails of front joints. A spot to rear pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are mostly bright and clean with a faint spot to the final leaf. Very Good.
