One of 250 copies, unnumbered, quarto size, 91 pp. A catalogue of The Grabhorn Press, serving as an example of the work printed at the shop. This catalogue also provides insight into the workings of the shop and an account of how the Grabhorns set up the press. Edwin and Robert Grabhorn were master printers, creating beautiful and elegent books in their print shop in San Francisco during the first half of the twentieth century. ___DESCRIPTION: Quarter tan cloth with gold decorative paper covered boards, paper spine label with black lettering and red decorations, fore- and bottom edges uncut, frontispiece of Edwin Grabhorn in 1937 in his printshop, photographs throughout of the Grabhorns in the shop, including Jane and Mary Grabhorn and Sherwood Grover; quarto size (11.5" by 9"), pagination: [i-iv] v-xv [xvi-xvii] 1-63 [1 colophon], one of 250 copies, of which 225 were for sale. ___CONDITION: Near fine, with clean boards, the corners straight without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; light soil to the top front joint, dustiness to the tan cloth, and offsetting to the pastedown endpapers; still a lovely book in near fine condition. ___POSTAGE: International customers, please note that additional postage may apply as the standard does not always cover costs; please inquire for details. ___Swan's Fine Books is pleased to be a member of the ABAA, ILAB, and IOBA and we stand behind every book we sell.
