Octavo, stitched pamphlet with three folded sheets, 12 pp. A scarce auction catalog for the library of Dr. John Hanson Briscoe (1789-1855). A veteran of the War of 1812, Briscoe practiced medicine in St. Mary's County and Baltimore, and was Consulting Physician for the Baltimore Board of Health between 1836 and 1839. The catalog lists 530 lots of medical books, as well as ten lots of bookcases and surgical instruments. Not in OCLC. First sheet detached from string binding, tear along fold of first sheet, soiling to front cover, foxing and creasing to pages.
