[Genoa, for D. and P. Semino] 1732. 8vo. 16p. Ad I-VI: The Genoese booksellers Pietro and Domenico Semino operated under their father s name, Giacomo Filippo, from his death (c. 1714). Over seven years, they issued these three stock catalogs, each with a supplement,OFFERING SOME SEVEN THOUSAND TITLES books in various languages printed north of the Alps (I-II, 1725-30), books in Latin printed in Italy (III-IV, 1725-31) andBOOKS IN ITALIAN STILL IN SHEETS(V-VI, 1726-32). The catalogs are clearly aimed at the trade. Each catalog is organized alphabetically by author or title and then by format, folio to trigesimosecondo (32mo). The brief entries provide the author and title; the prices, in lire, are absent. Most of the books are literary or religious, with numerous lives of saints. Appended to the Latin book supplement (IV) is a separate list of 120 liturgical books. The Biblioteca de Catalunya is the only library to hold all these catalogs. Fresh condition, one line of text canceled in manuscript; contemporary title inscription of Joannis Bapt[ista] Vilá[ ]i. See Pollard & Ehrman s Distribution of Books by Catalogue 93 and Petrucianni s "Il libro a Genova nel Settecento: II.2. I librai genovesi (1685-1797)" in La Bibliofilía (1994) 290-2.
