The Catcher in the Rye (Hardcover) (Chinese Edition)

This book tells about protagonist Holdens self-narrated experiences and inner feelings when wandering in New York City for almost two days and nights after being expelled from school. It not only vividly depicts the anguished, lonely, cynical spirit world of a middle-class child who is not content with the status quo, the contradictory psychological characteristics of adolescent, and criticizes the hypocrisy and affectation of adult society. Holden has a complex and contradictory personality, typical of teenagers. The protagonists experiences and thoughts cause a strong resonance in the teens, warmly welcomed by the readers, especially university and middle school students. They all imitate Holdens way of dressing and speak Holden language, because The Catcher in the Rye expresses their inner voice, and reflects their ideal, anguish and wishes.
