About the Author

Born in Surabaja, Indonesia, Horst Hendriks-Jansen spent most of his early childhood in Japanese and Indonesian concentration camps. He holds a B.Sc in Mathematics from MIT, and at the age of fifty, after a successful career in commercial systems design, embarked on his Ph.D. in cognitive science at Sussex University. He is currently doing research for a book on the theory of mind explanation of autism and lives in Surrey, England.
